Our budget, being low-cost travellers in Namibia, with a rental car, sleeping in camping and some couchsurfing, cooking ourselves, was:

Average exchange rate: 1 € (euro) =  13,75 N$ (namibian dollar)

Budget for 19 days/18 nights, for 2 people: 

  • Accommodation (camping,  18 nights): 2824 N$ ( 205 euros) 
           Staying 4 nights  with local people, thanks to Couchsurfing.

  • Food/drinks (supermarket): 1350 N$ ( 98 euros)
  •  Petrol: 2916 N$ ( 212 euros)
  • Car rental Ford Fiesta (19 days): 223 euros
          Ford Fiesta, rented in Johannesburg (SA) for 3 months, 11.75 euros/day.
  • Entrance fees: 680 N$  ( 50 euros)
  • Mixed (SIM, etc.): 41 N$ ( 3 euro)
  • Border tax for car: 220 N$P (16 euros)
  • Travel Insurance: 9 euros


Total: 817 € for 2 people for 19 days/18 nights
